Happy Thanksgiving!

Before school let out I asked my kiddos what they were thankful for. It was one of our "Must-Do's" for Daily 5. Please allow me to share their top answers.

1. My Family
2. Friends
3. My Teacher
4. Deer
5. The USA
6. Technology
7. Recess

(Yes, they did say deer. Clearly I have some huntin' kids in my class.)

The point is that even my 1st grade babies know what it is to be thankful, and they know that we have is so good here in America. What a blessing it is to celebrate this wonderful holiday! I want to wish y'all the very best Thanksgiving. May it be filled with family and friends, laughter and maybe even some deer, ok maybe turkey.

From me and my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving (P)inspiration

Before we get all Merry and Bright, let's stop and enjoy the holiday that is tomorrow, Thanksgiving.
I love Thanksgiving, I love most holidays, but defiantly Thanksgiving. I mean you can eat as much as you want. You are allowed to back for seconds, or in my case thirds without fear of judgement. And it's a special time set aside to remind us that we have so much to be thankful for.
So to get you pretties into the Thanksgiving spirit, let me share with you a few of favorite Thanksgiving images. Via Pinterest of course.

(Don't judge my lack of modeling skills.)
If you want to know any details of the outfits don't hesitate to ask!

Weekend Rewind: Hiking Edition

The weather this weekend was absolutely beautiful! It wasn't freezing cold, which for me is anything below 50 degrees, and the Fall colors were in full swing. Some teacher friends of mine invited me to go on a hike with them and of course I said yes! So Saturday morning I rolled out of bed and headed out.

We drove to Blood Mountain, which sounds way more scary than it is, and hiked up to Preacher's View. I must admit, I thought I was going to pass out. Ya girl needs to get back on the workout routine.
However the views were breathtaking! It was amazing to see all the changing colors of the leaves and to just be in the middle of God's beauty was worth the trip.

Warning: Picture overload, but really who's going to complain?

Megan and I just had to add our "Love Rocks" to the pile.

I'm so thankful for such wonderful women to teach next to. These girl have really helped me through my first months of 1st grade and I'm so blessed to be apart of their team. I'm so overwhelmed with joy that I get to work with teachers who put their whole heart into their students and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!
