To the Best Woman I Know

Happy Birthday Mom!
I'm so blessed to have you as a mother and best friend. I don't know what I would do without your constant encouragement, support, and endless love. Thank you for all that you have taught me throughout the years. I'm so proud of all you have accomplished. You are the hardest working person I know and I'm so proud that I may call you Mom. I hope that you have a wonderful birthday!

Love you forever.
(Even if you are from Nebraska. I know you can't help it.)

Five on Friday

Hi friends! It's FRIDAY!!!
I'm linking up with Natasha at Hello! Happiness for Five on Friday.

[1]
My brother's Christmas gift finally came in the mail. I wish I could share what it is with you, but I can't! Just know that it's really great :) One gift down, about a million to go.

[2]
The bridal show with Steph went so well on Sunday. We got so many great ideas and even picked out all her flowers and a few more items to get crafty with. I can't believe Steph's wedding is in less than two months away. So happy for you Steph!!

[3]
It's almost September. That means FOOTBALL!!! Aka the most wonderful time of the year. I'm so ready to watch my favorite team

[4]
My kiddos are finally figuring out 1st grade. (And so am I.) We had a really great week this week and it's becoming a little less overwhelming. I have such a sweet bunch this year!

[5]
It Fall. Yes I know that technically it's still Summer, but in my head it's Fall and don't try to tell me otherwise. I can't wait to be able to layer up without sweating on the playground, or taking my kids to the buses. And of course J.Crew is teasing me with all their Fall goodies.

Recruitment Ready

I've realized that it's the first time in five years that I'm not getting ready for recruitment, whether as PNM (potential new member) or as a sister. I'm so happy that I got one extra year of recruitment, one of many perks of graduating a semester late. But it's making me a little sentimental knowing that my sisters are getting ready for recruitment right now and I'm sitting here writing lesson plans. I never thought I'd miss those long nights filled with sorority chants, practicing walking up and down stairs in heels, breathing in hairspray for four days straight and becoming a master of hiding messes in closets and bathrooms to make my room look absolutely perfect.

So with West Georgia recruitment right around the corner, I'm dedicating this post to all things Alpha Xi Delta, after all it is the best sorority!

Welcome to 1st Grade: Classroom Reveal

So the First Day of School has come and gone and I can't believe how much I already love my sweet little babes! They are definitely going to give me a run for my money this year. All that energy they product is hard to keep up with, but I'm building my endurance. (And drinking massive amounts of coffee in the meantime!) I'm also in love with my room, which is good because I'll be spending a ton of time there. I'll be adding to it as the year goes on, but I'm happy with how it turned out. This is right before Open House on Thursday.

I'll be adding anchor charts throughout the year to my Daily 5 part of the board. On the far left is our word wall, and the center is going to be for the books/authors we are going to be focusing on this year.

I am loving the Dr. Seuss calendar I found on Amazon. I'm still tweaking our Calendar Time and adding items to this part of the board.

The bins on the counter were for Open House and aren't going to stay there. They were to collect school supplies the kids brought in.

I can't believe the transformation my classroom has made in just a week. Remember this post? They really should have a course on how to set up a classroom! Thank goodness for my sweet mother and dad helping me whenever they could. Not to mention my awesome coworkers. There's no way I could have done all this myself. Thankfully classroom set up will get easier, so they say.

Back to School

Holy classroom. I can't believe that today was the first day of preplanning. I've been getting to my room as often I could this week. I'm about half way there and boy am I living on a prayer! I'm praying that I finish before Open House next week. I have so many ideas and projects for my room and I feel like I'm running out of time!!
But I would like to share my inspiration for the theme of my classroom.

My grandma make this quilt for me last Christmas in the hopes that I would one day hang it in my classroom. It was the first thing on the wall!

I adore Dr. Seuss, like borderline obsessed. Everything is Dr. Seuss themed, everything.
I can't wait to share more pictures!
But in the meantime here are some pictures that gave me some (P)inspiration :)
