Friday's Letters

Dear Car Repairs, please don't coast me an arm and a leg. I've had pretty very, very good luck so far with my "older" car and I really don't want to have to start the process of buying a new one. Dear Student Loan Payments, WHY are you so complicated?! Seriously, any advice is much appreciated and will be welcomed with ice cream and a puppy! Dear Morning/Afternoon Talk Shows, I love that I have time to get my fix of Kelly & Michael, and Ellen everyday now that I'm not working all day. Dear Morning Coffee, you are beautiful and I love you! Dear Friday, let's be productive and get some things crossed off "the list". Which by the way, is growing everyday.

Happy Friday Y'all!!

Reflection

The school year is finally coming to a close. Just two days left with my precious third grade babies, who aren't little babes anymore. I can't believe we only have our class party/talent show and the last day of school left. I've been so busy packing up my classroom and planning for next year, I had to take a moment and breathe.
If you had told me this is how my school year would have ended up I would have said you must be a dreamer because one gets a teaching job midyear. I've been so blessed with the opportunities i've had this year. To be able to graduate in December with a job lined up and end in May as a third grade teacher is something i never thought possible, but with God all things are possible. I can't wait to see what He has in store for me next year in first grade.

I've met so many wonderful people this year and have built friendships and strengthened many others.

And just so this post isn't all awes and sappy stuff I just have to share my new riding boots. Yeah I said it. Riding boots.
Y'all they were on sale and you can never have too many pairs right?

LOVE the tweed! Eekk! Can't wait to wear them.. In November.

Happy Wednesday!

Shopaholics Not So Anonymous

Y'all I know I like to shop right? Clothes, shoes, jewlrey, scarves, bags you name it. I mean it's no big secret. But spending so much money on clothes does not sound like a responsible "big girl" choice. (I know I totally sounded like a teacher there.) I try to find good deals everywhere I shop and try my best not buy anything at full price or pay for shipping. But finding all those special "promo" codes while shopping online can get pretty tricky and time consuming.

The website name pretty much says it all. ShopAtHome.com has so many great coupon and even a cash back program! I've only been using the site for a little while and I've already saved a ton of money while expanding my wardrobe.
New season, new clothes right?
I just bought these J.Crew Cafe Capri and chino shorts using Shop At Home and got a great discount + free shipping.

Hello win win!

I was thrilled when they asked to do a blogger spotlight on me and my blog. You can check it out here
If you're a shopper, like I'm sure most all of you are defienty check out Shop At Home to find some great deals of your own.

Happy shopping!

My Picks: Hair Care

I'm starting a new series called "My Picks". Each week I'll post some of my favorite products and why I love them so much. This week is all about hair care aka every girl's pride and joy.

Hair
1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7

1. Aveeno Pure Renewal Shampoo & Conditioner- I have fine hair and too many shampoos I've tried have dried out my scalp too much or fry the ends but this shampoo isn't harsh at all. Plus it's sulfate free so I know it's super healthy for my hair. I love how soft it makes my hair feel and it has a nice clean smell, not overpowering.

2. TRESemme Heat Protective Spray- I use a lot of hot tools. I know I shouldn't, but I do. Between the hair dryer, straightening and curling iron my hair can get pretty fried if I don't protect it. I use this before every blow dry. It helps protect my hair from heat damage and it doesn't weight hair down.

3. Bed Head Colour Goddess Leave-In Conditioner- I don't color my hair anymore but this stuff is still amazing for my hair. I don't use it everyday, just once or twice a week. It makes my hair super soft and gives it that moisture that it needs. The best part? It smells like freshly baked cookies!

4. Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti- Humidity Smoothing Milk- If you've ever been to the great state of Georgia you've probably met our humidity aka the frizz machine. I have naturally curly hair so the second I go outside during the summer my hair immediately gets 3 times bigger. I use this right after I get out of the shower. It helps tame my hair and make it and frizz free.

5. Organix Moroccan Argan Treatment- This stuff is awesome! I use it once a week to give some much needed moisture to my hair. I use it in place of my regular conditioner and leave it in for 5 minutes. I love how my hair feels and smells after I use it and I can really tell a difference in how the ends of my hair look.

6. TRESemme Extra Hold Hairspray- I have tried many different kinds/types of hair spray and so far this is my fav. I like the aerosol can and the flexible hold this hairspray gives me. It's perfect for those days that I want to curl my hair because it don't weigh down the curls and ruin my look but it's also strong enough to hold all day.

7. TRESemme Fresh Start- For those early mornings that I'm too tired lazy to wash my hair this is my little miracle worker. I just spray all around the crown of my head and the roots then rub it in and voila! fresh hair. I then just style as I would with freshly washed hair and I'm good to go!

what are some of your favorite hair care picks?

Throw back Thursday- Class of 2008

The end of the school year always makes me sentimental. This year it's just making me feel old. This year it's been five, count em folks, five years since I've graduated high school.
Oh my word we were such babies!

forever and always best frans!

My babes and I at the senior picnic.

And graduation.

The whole fam.

nice shades right?

And of course what better way to celebrate a major accomplishment like graduating high school than sitting on stairs upside down. No wonder Jess and I never had boyfriends.

Cheers to the years. Happy Graduation!

Passion & Purpose

Last week we finished our Passion & Purpose series at Passion City and I've learned so much and many aspects of my life are more clear because of this series. The powerhouse verse that we really dug into was Colossians 3:17.

There were two main questions that were answered during this series.

1. What is my passion? Your passion, put simply, is whatever makes you come alive. It can be absolutely anything. We are all created uniquely by God, therefore my passions will be different from your passions. For example, my passion is teaching. I love being in the classroom, helping children learn and explore new things in ways they didn't know before. Your passion may be painting, or accounting, or pharmacy. Whatever gets you fired up, puts a bounce in your step, or is the reason why you jump out of bed in the morning, is your passion.

2. What is my purpose? Your purpose can be found in the second part of the verse, "do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus". It means that whatever it is that you choose to do, do it for the glory of God. We may have different passions but our purpose is the same, to make Jesus' name known. Take your passion and work toward your purpose. I truly believe that God places passions in our hearts for a reason and that reason is to bring people to Him.

Last night all eight of the PCC Community Groups met at our main campus for fellowship and worship. I loved hearing stories of people's amazing faith and the wonderful works God is doing everyday.

"it's a love fern!"

Who else loves that movie?!

Ok so my friend Shannon had her engagement party this weekend and I couldn't think of a better gift than a love fern. Kind of awkward if you think about the movie title but I just don't think about it. Plus she loved it and that's all that really matter folks.
Sadly I only took two pictures while I was there. But no worries I'll take plenty when the big day comes! Love you Shannon, congrats!

That would be Brian.

And an outfit post, like I promised.

Happy Monday!

May Flowers

I guess April didn't get the memo that it's now May and the rain can stop. I mean I guess we could use the rain, but some sunshine would be nice. But this gloomy weather isn't going to stop me from getting my May flowers!

Maxed out

And no I'n not talking about my credit card. I don't know about you but my stress bar has been pretty high this week. I've gotten home from work just about everyday not wanting to do anything but just sit on the couch. Not even wanting to watch TV, just sitting. Super lame and unproductive I know. Between projects at school and end-of-the-year grading I'm whooped by the end of the day. But tomorrow is career day and that should be pretty fun. Mom is coming to talk to the kids about being a nurse. She's presenting in my room so I had to rearrange the desk so all the kids could sit on the floor. Moving desks has got to be about the best sound in the world. Not.

Check out these super cute regions of Georgia projects we've been working on. Each pair of kids recieved a Papa John's pizza box to create their regions.

They're so creative.
And bless their little hearts. Today I wore a maxi dress and left my hair in its natural curly state and you would've thought I was going to the prom based on the way they were reacting. Kids are so funny.
And speaking of what I wore today I been the worst blogger about taking pictures of my outfit. I promise to be better about that the last three weeks of school.
Have a great evening!
