Bridals by Lori

My best friend Stephanie recently got engaged and asked if I would be one of her bride's maids. Of course I said yes! I've know Steph since I was a little awkward 7th grader in youth group and despite our age difference we've always been super close.
Well this weekend was one of the rare times that her and all of us bride's maids could get together to try on dresses. She really wanted to go to Bridals by Lori.
Now raise your hand if you've seen Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta? Yeah, same place. And i don't know about you but I LOVE that show. I was such a nerd walking around taking pictures of everything, asking our consultant numerous questions about the show, when they film, etc. I'm pretty sure I embarrassed everyone in our party.
Whatever, they knew what they were getting into when they decided to go shopping with me.
Turns out the only film on weekdays and you have to have an appointment, fill out an application, blah blah blah, to be on tv. But you know that didn't stop your girl from asking if you could take a picture that pretty, light blue couch they have everyone sits on when they meet there consultant. Such a fun experience.
Oh yeah, and we did find a dress!

me and the bride to be!

Friday's Letters

Happy Friday y'all! I don't know about you but I'm super pumped for the weekend. And what's this? A post before 5 o'clock? Thank goodness for three day weekends!

Dear Spring, you have been perfect so far (minus the whole pollen thing, but I'll look past that). The trees are beautiful and the flowers blooming are gorgeous.
Dear Third Grade Babes, I can't believe we only have 20 something more days together! These past few months being your teacher have flown by! I can believe how grown up you all look. I am one proud teacher!!
Dear Jerron, my dear brother please come home to visit soon. Your big sister needs some sibling time. Please and thank you.
Dear Brusters Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, job well done. You always hit the right spot.
Dear Nail Polish Remover, you seriously are one of the best inventions know to woman kind, but dang why do you hurt so much when you get into little cuts on my finger? not cool.
Dear Friday, I'm so glad I get to enjoy you today from home and not from school. Today is a much needed, and in my opinion, a much deserved break.

ps- i'm thinking of a blog name change. just giving y'all a heads up :)

I believe

I believe that an organized closet is a happy closet.
You may think it doesn't look organized but trust me, I could think of an item of clothing in my head, close my eyes and pick it out.
(No lie, I've done it before)

ok this is the dream. *sigh*

I believe that this corner is in desperate need of a good reading chair.
My poor pillow looks pathetic on the ground.

I believe that a cup of warm tea while reading a good book is essential.

I believe that painting your nails is some of the best therapy in world.

I believe that I am completely in love with some of the pretty details of my room.

I've been working so hard to get it finished before summer break.

And I believe that you can never have too much arm candy.
i'm currently obsessed with these Lily and Laura bracelets.

and this Charlie Paige bracelet I picked up today from Parsons Gifts and Cards. They were having a luau today from 5-7 so of course I stopped by to see what new items they had.
And seeing my bestie Olivia, was an added bonus :)

shining a light

today people all over the world, including me, are sporting red x's on their hands, clothing, cars, etc. all to raise awareness of the estimated 27 million men, women, and children who are enslaved right at this very moment. in fact there are more slaves today than at any other time in history. passion city's mission is to end slavery in our lifetime. the end it movement helps by funding 7 nonprofit organization who are fighting everyday to bring these people out of slavery.

so what can we do to help?
give your voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.

these people aren't just in other countries, they are right in our own neighborhoods. i live in the atlanta area, a big spot for sex slave trade. i personally can't go out and fight the fight for these young women caught in these horrible situations, but i can give my voice and my dollars to those who can.
please visit this website to explore more ways you can raise awareness. there's a video that will absolutely touch your heart.

ACM Awards

what do cowboy boots, pretty dresses, southern drawls, and great country music have in common?
the academy of country music awards of course!
this year it was hosted by blake shelton and the gorgeous luke bryan.

check out the painted on blue jeans. swoon.
and do you follow mr. shelton on twitter? flippin hilarious!

eric church's performance of "like Jesus does" was amazing.

i would love to see him live.

and my favorite part... the fashion, of course.

and of course the lovely carrie underwood. even though she wasn't hosting, i'm pretty sure she managed to change like three time. but i'm not complaining.

i mean how perfect is she?!

and i was so pumped when i heard luke bryan won entertainer of the year. much deserved!
(i couldn't actually stay up to watch the whole thing but i heard on the radio on the way to work this morning. this girl has to wake up early. teacher probs)
