last day in january

someone please tell me that january felt like the longest month to you too!
no seriously, it was.

maybe it's because november and december were so jammed packed with events that made those months go by fast. i mean i still had an eventful month.

i went to my first (and not last) passion conference.

i started my first lessons with my class.

i turned 23.

i signed up for my first color run.

my "little" brother turned 21!!!

and i completed my first month of living back at home.
it helps that i have these two little cuties to cuddle with.

ok it's been a pretty good month, just long.

well here's to a just as wonderful february!

Happy Birthday

Today is a special day for me, it's my birthday! I turned the big 2-3!! My parents surprised me at school (of course when I say school I mean work!) with cupcakes and flowers.

It was so sweet of them!

And thanks to the wonderful world that is Instagram, I received multiple photo collages. And because my birthday happened to land on a Thursday I became a part of a lot of my friend's "throw back Thursday" haha lucky me!
Here are some of the pictures I received!

I'm so blessed and thankful for all these amazing people in my life. God has truly blessed me this past year and I can't wait to see what 23 will bring!

Ps- my school system is starting two hours later tomorrow due to weather :) Happy Birthday to me!!

i'm linking up with Jamie again for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

let's get to loving!

1. i am loving my job!! it's hard, and tiring but i can't imagine having a different first job. i love getting to work with all the grade levels. it's really testing my classroom management skills.

2. i'm actually loving living at home. (ask me in a few weeks and i might have a different answer) i love hanging out with my mom more, and i'm really enjoying her cooking. plus, it's quite. not that i didn't love living the sorority house but it's a little nice having a quite place to come to after work. although i am missing my sweet sisters a lot!

3. i'm loving that i'm finally feeling better! i was so sick over christmas break. my poor family was taking care of me while we were at my grandparent's house in illionis.

4. i'm loving that it's wednesday.. and there's only two more days until the weekend!

have a lovely wednesday yall!

inspiration for my room

so since i've graduated and moved home, to save money, and because i'm a typical "poor graduate", i decided that my high school/college room decor needed to go! so i've been searching for inspiration for my new, "grown up" room. thank goodness for pinterest to help a girl out! here's what has inspired me.

i do have a few things of my own that i want to incorporate into my room.

any suggestions?!

Passion 2013

so if you follow me on instagram, you've seen that i've been at Passion this week. it was my first year going and most certainly not my last! if you haven't heard a Passion before you're not alone. i hadn't heard of it until last year when some friends from school went to Passion 2012. it is a four day, christian conference for college aged students (18-25), held at the georgia dome. there were 60,000+ students there!
if i had to describe the past four days in one word i would first tell you that i can't, but if i had to try it would be AMAZING!! and that honestly doesn't even begin to cover it. there were amazing speakers such as Beth Moore, Francis Chan, and Louie Giglio, the founder of Passion. there were students from all 50 states, and 54 countries. we broke down into different color groups, i think there were 19, or 20 groups. from there we were divided into groups of 6-8. these were our family groups. i honestly didn't think that our family groups would become very close within the four day that we were together but i was wrong. we became so close. it was completely amazing to meet so many christian students and to hear their stories and learn what they are doing on their campuses.
the mission that Passion has been focusing on the past two year is modern day slavery. did you know that there are 27 million slaved today?! that's more than any other time in history. i don't know about you but that just makes me sick. no one should be forced through violence and other terrible acts to do things against their will. throughout the four day, 60,000 "poor college students" raised over 3 million dollars to help shine a light for freedom. and i'm proud to say that i am "in it to end it"!! it's so encouraging to know that our generation is stepping up and doing amazing things in this world.

so enough of me talking yall want to see some picture.

i'm not sure where this picture cam from, i didn't take it obviously haha but this is the candle light ceremony we had on thursday night to shine a light on slavery. it was amazing to be apart of history.

if you have the opportunity to attend Passion 2014 take it! it will completely change your life, like it changed mine.

here's some more information about the conference and Passion City Church in Atlanta.
and here's a video put together by CNN about our conference.
