Fall Away

Alpha Xi Delta (ΑΞΔ) was founded on April 17, 1893 by ten women at Lombard College, in Galesburg, Illinois, who shared a vision of an organization dedicated to the personal growth of women.
i would not be the young woman i am today without the vision of these ten women. our vision statement is "inspiring women to realize their potential" and Alpha Xi Delta has helped me to do that. when i went through recruitment in the fall of 2008 i never imagined that i would find a group of girls who i loved and respected so much. i know it sounds cheesy but i really have met my life long best friends, my future bride's maids, my support system, and my never ending supply of good times! and the times that i always remember the most are the days where we all get together and learn something new about each other and ourselves. like for instance, we all could use some more balancing skills. ha! today was our sisterhood retreat at woodland camp and i've been looking forward to this since last semester!! we split into four groups and went through a series of challenge courses. each one designed to make you work as a team, give each person their time to shine, and teach followers to be leader and leader to followers. all of these lessons can not only be applied in our sorority life but our real lives as well. i got to have the pleasure of getting to know the 13 women in my group on a whole new level. i mean when you have to fall backwards from a 6 foot platform into their arms, trusting that they aren't going to drop you, i think it strengthens the relationship you have with those people. and when they trust you enough to let you catch them, that's amaXIng! i wouldn't trade any of these wonderful women for the world. i love my sisters, each and everyone.
my group *smiles*

wonderful god-family (sorority god-family) i just love these two!!

I'M TWENTY ONE!!!

so first off, let me apologize for my lack of blogging the past couple days. (i'm still getting used to it)
second off.. I'M TWENTY ONE!!!!!! well i've been 21 for two days now but i'm still pumped about it!!! Monday, (my real birthday) after everyone got back to school we went to O'Charley's where i ordered my first legal drink (tangerine pomegranate margarita yumm yumm!)
this pic courtesy of my rooms, kerri. thanks love!
but i'm just so excited for kerri and mine's 21st bday celebration that will be taking place next thursday :) now THAT will be a fun night!!
so, last saturday my parents took me and my brother out for both of our birthdays. (his is six days after mine) my baby brother is growing up so fast, i can't believe that he's turing 19 sunday and he's gonna graduate this may from high school. oh gosh i can't handle this!
i apologize for the phone pic, my mom forgot her camera, which NEVER happens! and my sweet dad got me the pandora bracelet that i've been hinting about oh so much!
and my rooms made me the cutest things ever. whenever we feel down about something we start listing "pros" about each other, and let me tell ya, it really helps! but she took the liberty of writing "21 pros" for my 21st bday. how presh is she?!

this is now sitting above my computer so when i'm having a rough day all i have to do is read a few. try it! i promise you'll love it!! well off to run errands, ugh! i feel like i'm always running errands.
Much Love!

SNOW DAY... 3 of them!

soooo remember how i said georgians get a little nutty when there's a snow storm?! well guess what.. we haven't had school in THREE days!!! totally unheard of! and yes one snow day is wonderful. two? why not. but three?! i'm getting a little antsy here! not to mention i'm running out of snack food. but i have had a wonderful past couple of days with some amazing people. some sisters and i decided to have a Gossip Girl marathon (LOVE!! i'm obsessed with Blair!!) and yesterday, some of us went sledding in the snow (more like ice actually) but here are a few pics from that great adventure.
me in the yellow rain boots (note to self: walking on ice in rain boots= bad idea!)

i was trying to help aJn up the hill and ended up falling. boooo!

me and bp and bz

after a wonderful meal of delivered hot wings and fries, we showered and watched the championship game between Auburn and Oregon. honestly it didn't matter to me who won, but let me just give a shout out to the SEC who got it done *smiles* now all i have to do is wait for the school to reopen so i can visit the health center (dang these sinus infections) no more playing in the snow for me!! oh well, i'm sure i have homework to attend to anyway.

Exec Weekend

This has been a busy weekend so far and I'm pretty stoked to have nothing to do tonight except laze around. (and blog of course!!)
But anyways... So this weekend has been all about my sorority's new Executive Council, which I have the pleasure of serving on for the second year. Last year I was Recording Secretary, and I'm proud to say that my wonderful little, tMl has taken over that position. This year I am Chapter Life Vice President. And I am so excited!!
tMl a.k.a. my lil one!

And here's all of us!

I was also excited that my parents got to come to the ceremony. (plus, they took me to dinner afterwards!)They are the absolute best parents a girl could ask for *smiles*

And every year we have an exec retreat. This year we went to Olive Garden, yum yum! So Friday night we trekked over to Newnan, shopped around for a bit, waited AN HOUR for our table (redic) and returned to Carrollton for a marathon of "Say Yes to the Dress" and "Four Weddings" both of which I LOVE!! Overall a wonderful night.
And get this.. There's supposed to be a huge winter storm headed our way tomorrow night. (ahh!) Naturally every grocery store here is out of bread and milk. People stop freaking out! Plus, if you are stuck in your house for days-on-end are you really going to be able to survive on bread and milk alone?! Let me answer that one for ya.. no! haha ohh lord, georgians and snow/ice is not a good combo. But hey, if classes are canceled, you won't hear a complaint from me!
Much Love!

Welcome!

Hello Blogging World!
I'm so excited to be here!! This blog thing is totally new to me so any suggestions would be wonderful and much appreciated. Well let me start by telling you a little about myself. I'm twenty years old, almost twenty-one (10 day ahh!) I attend the University of West Georgia (love!) and I'm a sister of the most amazing sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. Seriously, I don't know where I would be without these girls, they're my life! I was born and raised in the south, and I can't imagine living anywhere else! I live in my sorority's house (ballin I know!) with my wonderful roommate. In fact she's the one who got me interested in blogging. I enjoy a good book. I'm currently I'm reading "Something Borrowed" by Emily Giffin and I cannot put it down! I love working out, running is my favorite stress reliever and I addicted to online shopping. (I really think I might need help. ha!) But anyway, that's just a little bit about myself. I'm looking forward telling you more about myself as well as getting to know all of you.
Much Love!
